50 Projects, 50 Lessons: What Building Software Taught Us
After working on over 50 projects, we picked up a few things. Here are the most important lessons we have learned.
Fifty projects in, a few lessons show up again and again.
The short answer: listen before building, ship early, and communicate more than you code, those three habits decide whether a project succeeds, not the tech stack.
Listen before building
The best technical work fails if it solves the wrong problem. We spend real time understanding the business before writing code, and it saves weeks later.
Ship early, improve often
A small working version in front of real users teaches more in a day than a month of guessing. We prefer to launch something real, then refine.
Communication beats clever code
Clients don’t remember the elegant architecture. They remember whether they understood what was happening and whether they were kept in the loop.
These aren’t technical truths, they’re people truths. Software is built for people, so we start there.
